colour.algebra.cartesian_to_polar(a)[source]

Transforms given Cartesian coordinates array \(xy\) to Polar coordinates array \(\rho\phi\) (radial coordinate, angular coordinate).

Parameters:a (array_like) – Cartesian coordinates array \(xy\) to transform.
Returns:Polar coordinates array \(\rho\phi\).
Return type:ndarray
